Start your free audit

Takes about 15-30 seconds. We'll email you a copy of the summary if you'd like — entirely optional.

We never store submitted URLs or reports. If you share an email, we'll only use it to follow up about this audit.

Why we built this

A genuinely free tool, not a lead-gated trial.

Most "free SEO audit" tools online exist purely to collect an email address before showing you anything useful, or they run a shallow check that misses everything that actually matters for a modern site. We built this one to do real work: it fetches your live page, parses the actual HTML, checks real HTTP headers, verifies your sitemap and robots.txt, and tests a sample of your outbound links for genuine broken-link status — the same way we'd start a client audit internally.

We also built it to cover ground most free tools skip entirely: AEO-specific formatting checks, GEO-relevant entity and schema signals, and the technical prerequisites for LLM visibility — because a tool that only checks 2010-era on-page SEO basics doesn't reflect how search and AI discovery actually work in 2026.

What this checks

Nine categories, 45+ individual signals.

On-Page SEO

Title tag length and structure, meta description, meta robots directives, canonical tag, language declaration, charset, viewport configuration. Full SEO Services cover the fixes.

Headings

H1/H2/H3 counts and hierarchy order — flags skipped heading levels that confuse both search engines and answer engines.

URL Structure

Length, HTTPS usage, readability, trailing slash consistency, special characters that hurt shareability.

Content

Word count, paragraph length, keyword density against your target keyword, readability, duplicate headings, thin-content detection.

Images

Total images, missing ALT text, ALT coverage percentage — a factor in both accessibility and image search visibility.

Links

Internal/external link counts, live broken-link verification (not just presence), nofollow usage, anchor text diversity — the same principles behind our Link Building service.

Technical

Robots.txt, sitemap.xml presence with actual URL count, schema markup types found, Open Graph, Twitter Cards, HTTPS, WWW/non-WWW consistency.

Security & Headers

HSTS, X-Frame-Options, Content-Security-Policy, server software disclosure, compression, cache headers — the kind of foundation our Web Development builds start with.

Mobile & Extra Signals

Viewport, responsive CSS detection, favicon, AMP, hreflang, page size in KB, render-blocking scripts, third-party domain count, heading order, social share image dimensions.

How the score works

A transparent methodology, not a black box.

The overall score out of 100 is a weighted sum of five sub-scores, each shown separately in the report so you can see exactly where points were gained or lost: On-Page SEO, Technical SEO (including schema and structured data), Content, Performance, and an Extra Signals category covering the less commonly checked technical details. Each individual check inside those categories is marked pass, warning, or fail with a plain-language explanation — never just a red X with no context.

We deliberately don't inflate scores to make results feel more encouraging than they are, and we don't deflate them to manufacture urgency either. A 90+ score means the fundamentals are genuinely solid; a sub-50 score means there's real structural work to do, not just minor polish.

Beyond classic SEO

Why AEO, GEO and LLM-readiness get checked separately.

AEO signals

Heading hierarchy, FAQ schema presence, and answer-block structure — the formatting patterns that determine whether a page can be lifted as a featured snippet or voice-search answer. See our full AEO Services.

GEO signals

Schema markup depth, entity clarity in titles and headings, and structured data types — the technical groundwork generative AI tools rely on to summarize a page accurately. See our full GEO Services.

LLM-readiness signals

Organization and FAQ schema, canonical consistency, and content specificity — the same technical prerequisites that determine whether a language model can parse and trust a page at all. See our full LLM SEO service.

Who this is for

Built for real use, not just a marketing gimmick.

Business owners use it to get a second opinion on their own site before hiring anyone. Agencies use our white label services to run this as a fast first-pass check before a client pitch — there's no rate limit or watermark stopping that. Developers use it after a rebuild or migration to catch what a visual QA pass would miss — pairs well with our own web development process. And prospective Techno Hiker clients use it as a no-commitment way to see exactly what an audit from us would actually surface, before ever getting on a call.

Real examples

What this tool actually catches.

A title tag that's technically present but useless

Many sites have a title tag, so a shallow checker marks it "pass." This tool flags when it's too short, too long, missing the primary keyword, or duplicated across pages — the details that actually affect click-through rate.

Schema that exists but is incomplete

A site can have Organization schema and still be missing FAQ or Service schema entirely — which matters specifically for AEO and GEO visibility. This tool lists exactly which schema types were found, not just whether "some schema" exists.

A sitemap that technically exists but is nearly empty

A sitemap.xml file returning a 200 status doesn't mean much if it only lists three URLs on a 200-page site. This tool counts the actual number of URLs listed, not just whether the file resolves.

Broken outbound links quietly leaking authority

Most free checkers only count links; this one actually requests each external link and checks whether it responds — catching dead links that have been broken for months without anyone noticing.

A missing WWW/non-WWW redirect

When both the www and non-www versions of a domain resolve independently without redirecting to one canonical version, ranking signals split between the two. This is checked explicitly, not assumed.

Heading levels that skip a step

An H1 followed directly by an H3, with no H2 in between, confuses the document outline that both search engines and answer engines rely on to understand page structure — flagged specifically rather than folded into a generic "headings look fine" summary.

Free tool vs. a full audit

What this gives you, and where it stops.

This tool runs entirely automated checks against your page's HTML, headers and a few related files (robots.txt, sitemap.xml, a sample of outbound links). That's genuinely useful for catching structural issues fast, but it can't do everything a manual audit does: it doesn't test how ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity currently describe your specific business, it doesn't research your actual competitive keyword gaps, and it doesn't review whether your content strategy matches your target market's search behavior.

That deeper layer — real AI-platform prompt testing, competitor gap analysis, and a prioritized fix plan — is what Techno Hiker's AI Search Optimization and SEO services cover. This tool is the honest, free starting point; the paid work is where someone actually implements the fixes and tracks whether they moved the needle.

FAQs

Common questions about this tool

Is this SEO audit tool really free?

Yes, completely. There is no signup, no credit card, and no limit on how many URLs you can check. We built it as a genuinely useful public tool, not a lead-gated trial.

Does this tool store the URLs or reports I submit?

No. Every audit runs fresh in real time and nothing is written to a database. The only thing we ever keep is your email address, and only if you choose to provide it — used solely to follow up about that specific audit.

What does the score out of 100 actually measure?

It combines five weighted categories — On-Page SEO, Technical SEO, Content, Performance and an Extra Signals bucket covering favicon, AMP, hreflang, page size and more. Each category has its own sub-score shown separately, so you can see exactly where points were lost.

What is AEO and why does this tool check for it?

Answer Engine Optimization is how well your content is formatted to be lifted directly as a featured snippet, voice-search answer, or AI-generated response. This tool checks heading hierarchy, FAQ schema and answer-block structure because these are the specific things that determine AEO performance.

What is GEO and how is it different from SEO?

Generative Engine Optimization is about how AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini summarize and cite your content. It overlaps with SEO but leans more on entity clarity, structured data and specific, checkable claims rather than keyword density — which is why this tool checks schema markup and content specificity separately from classic on-page SEO.

Does this tool check for LLM SEO / AI visibility specifically?

It checks the technical prerequisites — structured data, entity-supporting markup like Organization and FAQ schema, canonical clarity and content consistency signals — that determine whether a language model can parse and trust your page. It does not run live prompts against ChatGPT or Gemini; for that level of testing, that is part of what Techno Hiker's AI Search Optimization service does manually.

Why does the tool check broken links and sitemap.xml?

Both directly affect crawl efficiency. A sitemap with a low URL count can signal an incomplete site structure to Google, and broken outbound links quietly waste the authority a page has built up. We verify sitemap.xml exists, count its listed URLs, and test a sample of outbound links for real HTTP responses.

Can I audit any website, or only my own?

Any public website. It is commonly used to check a client site before a pitch, a competitor's site for a quick comparison, or your own site before and after a change.

Does the tool check mobile-friendliness?

Yes — viewport configuration, responsive CSS signals and touch-target-friendly structure are checked as part of the Mobile SEO Analysis section.

Why did my score seem low even though the site looks fine visually?

Most of what this tool checks is invisible to a normal visitor — schema markup, header configuration, canonical tags, heading hierarchy. A page can look polished and still be sending confusing or incomplete signals to search engines and AI crawlers underneath.

Do you offer a PDF version of the report?

Yes — once a report loads, a "Download Report" button lets you save it as a PDF directly from your browser's print dialog.

How is this different from other free SEO checkers online?

Most free checkers only cover basic on-page SEO. This one adds a dedicated AEO/GEO/LLM-readiness layer, verifies broken links live rather than guessing, counts actual sitemap URLs, and checks 13 additional technical signals (favicon, AMP, hreflang, page size, render-blocking scripts, third-party domain count, heading order, and more) that most audit tools skip entirely.

Will running this audit slow down or affect my website?

No. The tool only reads your page the same way a browser or search engine would — it never modifies anything on your site.

Can agencies use this tool for client audits?

Yes, and several do. There is no rate limit or watermarking that would prevent it from being used as a quick first-pass audit before a client pitch.

What happens after I get my results?

You can act on the findings yourself, or if you would rather have someone fix what the report finds, Techno Hiker offers SEO, GEO, AEO, LLM SEO and technical fixes as ongoing services — the WhatsApp button at the bottom of every report pre-fills your score and URL so the conversation starts with context, not from scratch.

Want someone to actually fix what this finds?

This tool tells you what's wrong. Techno Hiker fixes it — SEO, GEO, AEO and LLM SEO, all in one place.
